City Year

City Year is a proud partner of Wilson elementary school and our goal is to support the whole school and the whole child. City Year brings in a team of dedicated young adults that serve as tutors, mentors, and role models to our students. They begin their days by supporting breakfast in the cafeteria and leading a walking bus program to help students arrive at school safely and on time. During school, they work in class as tutors helping students with math, reading and writing. Also during the day, City Year does individual check-ins and hosts lunch groups to strengthen relationships and build social-emotional skills with their students. After school, City Year runs a walking bus and supports the 21st Century program by participating with students in tutoring and enrichment activities. Lastly, City Year leads and supports whole school events that bring our families, students, and school staff communities together for fun and learning.
